Day 1: Agadir – Taroudant – Aït Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate
After breakfast at your hotel, we begin our desert adventure with a scenic drive to Ouarzazate, passing through the charming town of Taroudant. Known as the "Little Marrakech," Taroudant invites you to explore its medieval ramparts and lively souks.
Continue through the High Atlas Mountains to the legendary Aït Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This fortified village, once a thriving trading post in the 17th century, is a popular filming location for movies like Gladiator and Lawrence of Arabia. Afterward, we visit the Atlas Film Studios in Ouarzazate before checking into your riad or hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
After breakfast, depart for Merzouga, traveling along the famous Road of the Thousand Kasbahs, passing through the Valley of Roses and the scenic Dades Valley.
We stop at the impressive Todra Gorges, known for their towering orange cliffs and picturesque surroundings. Take time to walk through this breathtaking canyon before continuing your journey deeper into the Sahara.
In the afternoon, pass through Berber villages like Tinjdad, Melaab, and Erfoud before reaching the dunes of Erg Chebbi near Merzouga. Mount your camel for a mesmerizing 1.5-hour ride through the dunes at sunset, heading to your luxury desert camp.
Enjoy a delicious traditional dinner, live Berber music around the campfire, and an unforgettable night under the stars in the vast desert landscape.
Rise early to catch the spectacular desert sunrise. After breakfast and a refreshing shower, return to Merzouga by camel and begin your return journey to Agadir.
Drive through the picturesque Draa Valley, dotted with kasbahs, palm groves, and Berber villages. Pass through Agdez and the dramatic Anti-Atlas Mountains (elevation 1,660 m), where you'll stop for lunch.
Continue your drive through the High Atlas back toward Agadir. Arrive in the evening and drop off at your hotel, ending a memorable desert adventure.
